Give Thanks

I’m not sure what’s happening in your life right now, but always remember to pause and give thanks to the Lord for the everyday blessings in your life. Chances are, you’ll be able to identify at least one thing for which you’re grateful. Then, write it down repeat the again the following day, and remember to offer a quick prayer of thanks to God.

Truth be told, friends, as I approach the one-year mark of Daily Thankful, I feel like I am coming to the end of the road. I am grateful for each one of you, and for your willingness to read this blog (which still amazes me, by the way).

There is a strong possibility that Daily Thankful will wrap up toward the end of this month. In the event that this should happen, please know that I will be sure to give you plenty of advance notice. I’m still praying about it, but this is the direction in which I feel like the Lord is leading at this time – I thought that you should know.

Remember that, regardless of the outcome, I am grateful for each one of you! God is good, and I have been incredibly blessed so much by the community here at WordPress. You all are wonderful people, and I’ve learned so much from you all!

[For some reason, I cannot find any of the formatting button on the WordPress app today – I’m using my iPhone – so my prayer will be in the regular, unitalicized font]

Dear Lord, thank You for this wonderful experience in daily gratitude and prayer to You. It has been transformative in so many ways.

I’m asking for Your specific guidance and direction regarding this blog. I feel in my spirit that we may be approaching end; selfishly, however, I want the blog to continue. Either way, please help me to be fully obedient to You, come what may. In Your name I pray, Amen.

  1. Oh no! I’ll be really sad if you stop. I always enjoy your posts. But of course you must do whatever the Lord leads you to do. I do think the simple concept of your blog and your consistency in posting are of great value in the blogosphere. I’d be interested to hear why you’re thinking about stopping, but perhaps you’ll talk about that in a future post?

    Peace and blessings, Steven 🙏🏻

    1. Thank you, my friend. I simply feel a prompting in my spirit that the Lord is telling me that the end is drawing near. However, I don’t plan to disappear altogether – I’ll probably continue to still read blog posts and comment on them; also, I will likely leave Daily Thankful up, but will not be contributing any more posts to it.

It’s a bittersweet feeling when you know that the Lord is calling you to walk away from something. I can’t say that I understand it fully, but I am trying to be obedient.

I will continue to pray on it, and will keep everyone posted. Your comments mean a lot to me, Steven – thank you. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Margaret. I’m still sifting through where I feel that the Lord is leading me, but I do not think that I would disappear completely. I would likely continue to read and comment on other blogs, but would not be contributing to Daily Thankful after the end of this month.

As I shared with Steven a moment ago, I don’t fully understand all of this, but I am trying to be obedient. However, should something change, you will be among the first to know.

As always, I am so grateful for you – you are a blessing! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, my friend! This has been a difficult decision to wrestle with, and I’m still not at the end of it. However, as I have shared with Margaret and Steven just recently, I think I would likely stick around and still read a few blogs and comment on them. You won’t be able to get rid of me that quickly! 😉

However, if what I’m sensing is correct, then my last blog post would be toward the end of this month. I would keep Daily Thankful online, but I would likely not be contributing anything new to it.
