High Fidelity

Or, to paraphrase another passage of Scripture, “Faithful is He who calls you, and He will bring it to pass.”

Put another way, God is always true to us. That’s always something for which we can always be grateful, no? (even when we turn away from Him to pursue our own way, He still sticks by us. Talk about high fidelity!)

Dear Lord, I know that I’ve expressed gratitude to You in the past, but I want to say again how thankful I am for Your steadfast faithfulness to me. The image of ocean waters seems to be appropriate as I ponder Your faithfulness; no matter what is happening on land, the ocean is always there. The waters are always active, teeming with life, even when – at a passing glance – all seems to be still.

Thanks for this reminder that You are always at work (often behind the scenes), even when things seem to be slow or still from my limited and narrow perspective. In Your name I pray, Amen.

    1. I can totally relate. Time and time again I leave the beach only to return and be comforted by the fact that the ocean is always there – it’s never moved, not once!

What is true for the beach is often true in our relationship with the Lord as well.
